Small-scale liquified natural gas player Avenir LNG has signed a time charter party with LNG Shipping, a subsidiary of Italian energy giant Eni, for one of its LNG bunker vessels.

The chartered out vessel is the 2021-built, 7,500 cu m Avenir Aspiration. The multi-year time charter to Eni will begin from delivery in Europe in 2025.

This charter increases Avenir’s third-party charter revenue backlog, including options, to over $285m. This, according to the company, secures additional long-term sustainable cashflow for the firm and shareholders over the next decade.

The Avenir Aspiration currently trades alongside the Avenir Ascension in northwest Europe performing small-scale supply services and ship-to-ship bunkering operations as part of Avenir’s physical LNG trading division, Avenir Supply and Trading.

The company has been able to successfully sign four charter agreements over the past 12 months across its fleet of five vessels on the water and two under construction.
