Denmark’s Baltic Shipping and Risør Shipping of Norway have joined forces to launch a new dry bulk shipping player.

Baltic Bulk has been officially introduced this week as a new dry cargo operator, freight trader and commercial manager specialising in the handysize and supramax market, but, how the company describes, an end-to-end approach where it leverages synergies between the coaster, minibulk, and handysize segments.

The Hillerød-based outfit, chaired by Baltic Shipping’s boss Ronnie Hulstrøm, is headed up by chief executive Anders Svarrer and Frederik Lytzen as chief of operations.

Risør Shipping was launched in 2023 by two finance professionals Thomas Christensen and Martin Hauge and currently owns two general cargo vessels the 2004-built Helene Julie and the 2001-built Rebecca, while its Danish counterpart lists more than 90 ships on its website and is represented in all Danish ports.
