Offshore rig owner Noble Corporation’s harsh-environment jackup rig Noble Regina Allen has gained more work from TotalEnergies in Argentina.

The French energy major has exercised two priced option wells on the 2013-built rig at $150,000 per day, keeping the unit busy for an additional 60 days.

The initial $31m 220-day contract with Total Austral was signed last September and covered the drilling of three horizontal wells at the Fenix natural gas development off southern Argentina, with four one-well options.

Noble’s backlog at the end of July stood at $4.2bn. The New York and Copenhagen-listed offshore rig owner has also received an extension from BP in the UK North Sea for Noble Innovator jackup fixing the rig for approximately 8 months at a dayrate of $155,000.
