US weekly LNG exports reach 25 shipments

The agency said in its weekly report, citing shipping data provided by Bloomberg Finance, the total capacity of these 25 LNG vessels is 94 Bcf.

This compares to 24 shipments and 90 Bcf in the week ending July 31.

Average natural gas deliveries to US LNG export terminals decreased 0.4 Bcf/d from last week to 12.6 Bcf/d, according to data from S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Louisiana decreased 3.3 percent (0.3 Bcf/d) to 7.4 Bcf/d, while natural gas deliveries to terminals in South Texas increased 2.9 percent (0.1 Bcf/d) to 4.2 Bcf/d.

Also, natural gas deliveries to terminals outside the Gulf Coast t decreased 12.1% (0.1 Bcf/d) to 1.0 Bcf/d, the agency said.

During the week under review, Cheniere’s Sabine Pass plant shipped nine LNG cargoes and the company’s Corpus Christi facility sent four shipments.

The Freeport LNG terminal shipped four cargoes, Sempra Infrastructure’s Cameron LNG terminal sent three cargoes, while Venture Global LNG’s Calcasieu Pass facility and the Cove Point facility each sent two cargoes.

The Elba Island terminal also shipped one cargo during the week under review.

This report week, the Henry Hub spot price rose 6 cents from $1.93 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) last Wednesday to $1.99/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The agency said the price of the September 2024 NYMEX contract increased 7.6 cents, from $2.036/MMBtu last Wednesday to $2.112/MMBtu this Wednesday.

The price of the 12-month strip averaging September 2024 through August 2025 futures contracts rose 3.4 cents to $2.939/MMBtu, it said.

The agency said that international natural gas futures increased this report week.

Bloomberg Finance reported that weekly average front-month futures prices for LNG cargoes in East Asia increased 15 cents to a weekly average of $12.50/MMBtu.

Natural gas futures for delivery at the Dutch TTF increased $1.08/MMBtu to a weekly average of $11.78/MMBtu.

In the same week last year (week ending August 9, 2023), the prices were $10.98/MMBtu in East Asia and $10.35/MMBtu at TTF, the agency said.
