Houston-based offshore contractor McDermott has secured decommissioning work for Santos offshore Western Australia.
The contract worth between $50m and $250m covers engineering, procurement, removal and disposal of the Harriet Alpha platform and associated infrastructure.
The Harriet Alpha platform is one of the largest facilities slated for decommissioning and will follow McDermott’s recent completion of the Campbell decommissioning project for Santos in Australia.
“This is our largest decommissioning project to date, reflecting our continued commitment to delivering bespoke solutions for the timely, safe, and environmentally responsible removal of infrastructure at the end of its operational life cycle,” said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott’s senior vice president for subsea and floating facilities.
Project management and engineering will be carried out by McDermott’s team in Perth with support from offices in Indonesia and Malaysia.
