Oslo-listed semisub accommodation vessel owner Prosafe has won a tender for a four-year contract for one of its flotels by Brazilian state-owned oil and gas giant Petrobras.

The company will provide its 2016-built Safe Notos flotel for safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil. Prosafe stated that the contract award and timing are subject to a formal process, during which Petrobras is under no formal obligation to conclude a contract.

If awarded, the deal has a firm period commitment of four years, with the operational start in September 2026. This closely follows the expiry of the floatel’s current contract, which started in the third quarter of 2022. The total value of the contract is approximately $204m.

The vessel is capable of operating in harsh environments and accommodating up to 500 people.
